Although a relatively
young group, Red Hot Theatre has already made a big impact.
A charity night for the Slough Homeless Run held in March
this year was a tremendous success, bringing rave reviews
and raising an impressive £600. Consisting of two one-act
plays - 'Think',
written and directed by Louise Oldman, and Louise Page's
'Tissue'
directed by Aby Bery - the reviews were fantastic.
Further success was
to be had in the 2002 Maidenhead Drama Festival. While
'Tissue' collected the award for overall winners, 'Think'
picked up awards for Best Unpublished Play and Best Stage
Presentation. 'Tissue' was then put forward for the All
England Drama Festival semi final and despite some steely
competition, the production came in a well-deserved second
place.

Sam & Cy
Comedy duo Sam Ball and Cy Henty fondly remember that
fateful day when they were thrown together to share a
small cupboard in the Halls of Residence at Manchester
University and told quite simply to get on with it. Occasionally
sneaking out to procure a diet of cheap booze and Pot
Noodles, they began to formulate what has been described
as a ‘unique style of comedy’. For a number
of years, the pair lived a strange double life, responsible
Mental Health Professionals by day but a completely irresponsible
comedy duo by night.
Quite simply, you should not miss them.
The pace of their show never drops as an audience weak
with laughter is dragged into a bizarre world where anything
could happen. During their eight-week run at the Canal
Cafe Theatre, they introduced a devastating line up of
new characters from the two touring Evangelists who find
themselves listening to a vocational lecture by Psycopath
Bern entitled ‘A Career Inside’, to the surreal
pensioners, Edie and Len, searching for inspiration amongst
the drudgery of everyday life.
So don’t miss the opportunity
to see the pair perform locally in such a great venue.
Predicted to be huge by all the people that count, their
off-beat style is guaranteed to keep you laughing till
it hurts.
